This website shows how he was a true leader. He was the second African American baseball player in the Major Leagues and the first player to be in the American League. Doby remained a superior hitter and outfielder during his 13-season career, with selections to seven American League All-Star teams. This is good to have because I can use this to show how dedicated he was to the game and what an honor it is to be in the Hall of Fame.

This website informs on how he grew up and what he did to get in the big leagues. He had to work hard at everything he did and succeeded on playing just more than baseball. Larry was a starting center fielder for the Cleveland Indians and after he played for 13 years he began coaching and scouting.

Instead, he leaped over the top of it, snatched the ball backhanded, and seemed to remain suspended in air for a moment. Finally, obeying the law of gravity, he came down onto the awning above the bullpen.
